Is there any reason why a 2010-2012 20" wheel from a full size would not fit well on a 2006 full size? I've seen a few mentions about later wheels not being compatible on earlier vehicles, but I don't know if that applies in this case...

Both L322 and L405 have a 72.6mm hub. PCD for both is 5x120. Heck lug nuts have the same thread. You would have to make sure you lug nuts match the rim. LR has used both top hat style lug nuts and conical lug nuts.

Ok great. My other question is, would there be an issue in using same year Sport wheels on my full size?

Nope. L320, L322 and LR3 and LR4 rims are all interchangeable.
