Quick Step on Brakes = 3 lights blinking once - ABS, Brakes, Traction Control

Any idea why these three warning lights would blink once when I quickly step on the brake pedal? It only happens when I make a quick stop... if I slowly push the pedal down, nothing lights up.

But if I tap on the brake pedal quickly, the ABS, Traction Control and Brake lights blink!

Thanks for any guidance. Oh, it's a '99 4.0SE with 188,000 miles!!

Hi

The 3 lights are warning you that the brake pressure is getting low for a short while. This is a sure sign that you have to change your accumulator. This accumulator is a buffer that stores energy and supplies it to the system when there is a request for brake fluid. If you step on the brakes the pressure fluctuation is enough to light the 3 amigos as they have been called in some other thread here, it is most likely that your accumulator is shot.

Buy a new one from Island 4x4 for around 100 GBP.
