Hi all,

So I was backing my RR MKIII out of the garage over the weekend and when I turned the steering wheel to the right, I heard a faint sounding knock. I first didn't think much of it and thought I was hearing things. But sure enough, on start-up the next day, I heard the knock again when I turned the steering wheel. Not sure if it is coincidental that I am hearing the knock noise when I turn the steering wheel at first start in the morning. I am unable to repeat the occurrence after it does this for the first time for any given day.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Quick "KNOCK" noise when turning steering wheel.

Looks like I'll answer my own post based on another more recent posting from TD6Matt. Possible Lower Ball Joint wear. Will have this looked into.

could be the end links too, especially if you turn the wheel quickly while stopped and can hear the clunk.

On our P38 the exact same thing while turning the wheel and backing up slightly uphill. Was the drivers side tie rod end of the drag link. Very little side to side play but significant vertical play.
