I am replacing the HG on the pass. side of my 96 HSE and the Rave CD seems to be lacking some critical steps... it does not mention anything about removing exhaust/intake parts just cover, cam, and head bolts. I have done all this and removed the exhaust headers, do i need to pull the alternator and intake as well?

thanks

got new bolts yes and got good compression on other side so im going to leave it for now, ended up not removing the intake just pulling the bolts and sliding the head out

seriously, do the other side aswell save time in the long run, i figure but not sure that the extra compression from fixing one side will find fault in the other side if it is weak, because mine went after about 4k of replacing the other one. Get a kit off ebay which includes all the stuff you need should be less that £60 with bolts and all gaskets. I had to pay to get mine done as i don't have garage and it was -6c here when it went.
