Tune2Air is the best solution I've come across so far, it really does work well. You can connect any bluetooth device to it, not just ipods, although with my Android phone the song display is usually wrong, but the steering wheel controls still work perfectly.
They also make one that has the MMI cable built in, don't get that one, it is a slightly different connector than what is in the LRs.
