My 08 HSE is coming off of lease with 31,000 miles in perfect shape and zero issues, with a buyout of $42K...or should I turn it in and lease a new 2011 in November? There is still the rumor that the new body will be out in 2012...

I know the Engine and some of the interior was updated, but I am still pretty happy with my 08, and $44K with low mileage and 1.5 years left on the Warranty seams like a good price...

I think you will like the new selection of engines. Plus the upgrade to all the electronics especially the NAV. If they redesign the body style bear in mind it will effect the value of the old ones, bear that in mind. My 10 has been bullet proof so far.

Lease the new car. The 2008 will soon be out of warranty cover and the problems will come. The lease payment on a 2010 should be within spitting distance of the buy payment on $42K. Granted, the lease will probably require several thousand cap cost reduction but that represents a mere pittance compared to what an out of warranty Range will do to you. Not to mention the new powertrains are a huge step up...

Buy the 2008. They are similar enough cars to not make a lease feasible. The '08's are great (I LOVE mine) and then you will own it and can wait for the new body style.

This is the first year that I haven't had at least one car on lease and it is great not having any car payments whatsoever, even if it was only $1,350 / month.
