About to take ownership of a 2011 from a used car dealer. They only have one key fob. They claim they’ll get me a second one and have someone come to me to cut and program it. Does this sound feasible? Would the programming need to be done by a dealer?
Thank you

I got a new factory key from England 315mhz, for 186.00
we have a
Autel Maxisys Elite Diagnostic Tool (Upgraded Version of MS908P Pro) with Wifi Bluetooth Full OBD2 Automotive Scanner with J2534 ECU Programming & 2 Years Free Update

scan tool at the shop and it has a program to sync a new key, it worked. my truck is a 2010 FFRRSC the 2011 should be the same

Only issue is no hard key comes with the new remote.
If you buy a used remote this scan tool will reprogram the previously programmed remote to the new code you just need to have one remote that works in the truck.

The hard key has to be cut by a smith with the blade type cutting tool and the key blanks can be found on Ebay.

Yes, either IIDTool or another LR tool. Talk to your local indy shop and see if they would be willing to do it. I had mine programmed for $90.

Also, nice to see another 95' 25th Anniversary LWB owner
