hey guys i have arranged for powerchip to come down to the vancouver, BC area.
they are doing flashes and custom tunes on several cars and they have one for the RRS S/C (4.2L).
they are giving the flash at a special price of $990 (normally $1690) the gains are 45hp and 33tq.

anyways im going to have that done to mine and i wanted to let u guys in the BC and WA state area know about it.

the gains i posted applies to the 4.2L supercharged version. it would be different for the HSE, but u can give travis at Powerchip a call and ask him what they can do for yours. 18004950777

i dont know how new this development is but i just spoke with them directly and they have already flashed some and will be doing it to mine. im hoping ill get more since i already have a pulley and exhaust.

im not sure what the downside or trade off could/would be. but most cars do not come from the factory tuned to their maximum potential.

they do have a 14 day satisfaction guarantee.

ill be getting custom tuning on the dyno for the CLS on that day but its a 2 wheel dyno.
im not sure if im going to bother dynoing the rrs. ill have to go to another shop beforehand and then come back again to do more runs.
as long as i can feel the gains on the rrs i will be happy.

thats not too high of a gain for a supercharged or turbocharged car.
most forced induced cars gain at 40 or more hp and similar amounts of torque as well.

if the car was naturally aspirated then those types of gains would be far fetched.

i know its much better to dyno runs but in the end its a heavy suv and it will never be fast enough. ill save the speed for the AMG, i cant wait to see what kind of power ill be able to put down. im currently at 481whp and 562wtq on a conservative flash that is running rich. im hoping the custom tune and some new mods will push me to well over 500whp.

ill do my best to dyno the RRS but no promises.

well even on stock AMG 55 supercharged cars people have gained around 40 hp or so with just a tune. people have also shown that on dynos, even more when u throw a pulley in the mix.
ill let PC deal with figuring out whats best for the rrs, its not going to be custom tune on the dyno so i dont know if ill have afr readings. they do know what they are doing and i trust them. they custom tuned my friend's E55 to about 550whp and that thing ran an [email protected] ET at the drag strip in 90 degree weather.

the tune went well!
my cls is running great and picked up a lot more power across the whole power curve.

as for the RRS s/c flash, i love it, unfortunately i wasnt able to do before and after dyno runs.
throttle response is greatly improved, that lag i felt whenever i step on the gas is gone.
i can also feel the s/c kick in harder and faster, the car definitely accelerates faster now.

i do have a pulley and exhaust in the car so that probably help me to make more hp and tq, but before the tune i couldnt really feel the difference that those parts made.
anyways im very happy with it and it has made the RRS a lot more fun to drive.

i just spoke with travis today and yesterday and they are still there.
there was a problem with the phone lines for a couple hours on the street where their building is so perhaps u called during that downtime.
