Power window not fully seating

My driver side window rolls up and down just fine, but does not completely enter the upper frame, stopping just fractions of an inch short of the rubber which results in some wind noise unless an object is jammed in the gap (it only seems to affect the far right corner of the window and not the front). Also, when rolled down, the glass stops about half an inch short of being completely hidden in the door.

Does this sound like a regulator failure or something else?

Could be the channel (holds the glass and connects to the regulator) beginning to fail? They rust and split which allows the glass to move out of alignment.
One of plastic window regulator runners that connects to the channel had popped out for whatever reason, but one arm remained so it could still roll up and down.

The channel on the bottom seems to be stuck onto the window itself. New regulators seem to come with their own channel that uses 8mm bolts on top of the old one but there doesn't seem to be anything on mine?

Mine looks like this.

Mine looks like the top image.

I bought a replacement from bearmach that looks like this: https://bearmach.com/front-left-window-regulator-stc2881

Not quite sure how those are supposed to play together....
OK - i had to look a little closer. Pre-95's have a different regulator: https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/RTC3815

You can buy replacement lift channels as well (the piece in your image above): https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/MUC2322
Early 95s have the old style, newer 95s have the new style. Unfortunately many of the newer 95 parts are one off to the end of production in 96.

The new style uses the same lift channel and regulator as a NAS Disco 1 and the window glass itself is the same on all RRCs with plastic door mounted mirrors and Disco 1s.

I managed to get the window closed and can't be bothered to pay the crazy shipping for a new $40 reg from Paddock Spares, thanks for the help anyways.
