Hey guys - another car guy here looking to move up from a 2014 Supercharged Sport to a 16 or 17 Ranger Rover Supercharged or ATB. I have a few i am looking at which range in price and Mileage. Since my goal is to hold the truck for 2 years and sell, low mileage is key. I have a few in mind buy have a few questions first...

1. Is there a big difference between a 16 and 17? I can get a well optioned 17 or a ATB 16 for roughly the same money and similar mileage.
2. Considering the LWB since I like the extra room and feel my sport is tight in the back seats. Any feedback? Do they drive any different? I do like the look of the regular a bit more than the LWB but its close enough...
3. Are the 16 ATBs worth the extra money as I can get a 16 ATB with roughly 31,000 miles or a nicely equipped 16Supercharged with 24k miles for 7k less. Both extremely clean.
4. The one thing i noticed and was surprised about is the Range Rover doesn't have a DYNAMIC sport suspension setting as does the sport. I figure it would since the suspension seems the same. I do like the ride in my Sport and was a little surprised about the soft ride in the Range Rover. Anyone move from a Sport to give me some feedback?

On another note, through my search and to my surprise i found that there are several Lemon/buybacks in 16 and 17 out there. Too many to not be alarmed. Why are there so many? Is there a particular issue with these trucks? Since the engine is basically the same as my sport i am guessing that isn't the problem. Also RR dealers aren't discounting them enough to be considered.

Here are two trucks I am looking at. What would you chose?

16 well optioned 24k for 72k.

17 well optioned for 84k - (giving me 4k more for my truck so even with ATB)

There was a complete infotainment overhaul in '17. Those cars support apple carplay and android auto. That's a pretty big difference.
There were also numerous other updates from '16 to '17, with the entire InControl suite of things overhauled, including the introduction of Remote Climate (start) and a bunch of other things. http://www.auto-brochures.com/land_rover.html

I could only pull up the 16 ATB. The nice thing about that vehicle is that it was sold and serviced by the same dealer that has it for sale now. No auction vehicle etc. It’s weird that it had over 100 miles put on it since it was listed for sale in December and serviced this month.

2017 infotainment is a huge upgrade over the 2016 which should be practically identical to what you have in your 2014. I would get a 2017 SC over a 2016 ATB.

Good luck!
