I think the compressor is under (or next to) the spare tyre well in the back.
thankyou for your reply i will take a look at it in the morning.
take it to a dealer or buy a scanner, pretty sure if the position light goes away, and suspension inactive stays up, it's hard fault and won't return to normal until the issue is repaired the and computer is reset.
had it plugged into a dyagnosis unit at a 4x4 specialist yesterday, and everything else talks back but the EAS wont? has anyone else had this problem????
regards
ian
4X4 specialist is not the same thing as a LR stealer unless they are using LR specific diagnostic tools, which would be why the EAS didnt communicate..

if they were using LR diagnostics they it it sounds like the EAS computer has taken a dump... in your lap
thanks for your reply, dam and blast it looks like ive bought a car from a lemon tree :crybaby2:
regards and crying myself to sleep now

Why do you think it's a lemon? EAS is a wear item just like brakes, alternator and cooling... etc. It's just part of owning an aging Rangie. Trouble shoot it using the search function and home page bits. Fix it yourself or have it fixed and wait for the next system to fail.
This guy should buy one of those USB EAS computers on here... I need to get one, but I'm pretty lazy seems worth the 200 since even from an independent shop they still want 75 to pull the codes.
still at least i know of one good point, the range rover is still up on all four corners so no air bag leaks
so then what is it doing, just staying in the normal ride hieght? does it drop down when going over 65mph?
its just not moved from normal ride height, but have the inactive message up on the display and cant raise or lower it at the mo, garage cant fit me in till the 7th Jan :(
hello all just for all`s` information i had the dash stripped out and it was a loose power plug that feeds the EAS ECU :p
all back up and running  . and only cost me £140.00.
merry xmas all from a very happy man.

Nice. I love happy endings. Hopefully I'll join you on the happy boat today when my mechanic calls me and tells me if I need a new transmission or not.
fingers crossed for you, but how did it go :?:
hope alls well
regards

Thanks Ian. Dont for sure yet but I'm already putting my motorcycle up for sale just in case I need the money for a new tranny lol
Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem and exactly the same model range rover: air suspension inactive and problems with the message centre on the dashboard - in my case there are pixels missing on the instrument binnacle and the cd screen on the central console is completely dead.

Did your dealer do a diagnostic on the software or just dive straight into the dashboard?

I'm hoping my truck has the same issue, as opposed to something bigger.

Thanks!
