Playing sound through rear-seat AUX input

Hello all, I have been a visitor to the site for a while now but this is my first post. My wife has a 2006 HSE with the rear seat entertainment package (two video and audio line inputs and a headphone-line input on the aux panel on the back of the center console), and I was curious to see if there was a way to play my ipod through any of these inputs over the radio while driving.

Instead of going all-out and buying some adapter, there has to be a way for this to work in my opinion.

Also, on another note, when we bought the car it did not come with the IR headphones for the rear seat. Can any set of headphones be made to work or do I have to purchase through a dealer?

Thanks!

I can't help with the Aux input, but I purchased the Audiovox IR2CFF IR Wireless Dual Channel Headset for my kids.

Found at Amazon, shipped by CarToys, the pair cost me $69.98 w/free shipping.

The kids like them, they have dual channel sound if it's ever needed/wanted, and the earpieces swivel to more easily slide into the seat back.
You can buy a 1/8th to 1/8th jack cable at radio shack and plug one end into the headphone jack of the ipod and the other into the audio in jack of the rear center console and then choose aux in the entertainment menu of the touchscreen. It will play your ipod. It's not super great quality and I find the volume output to me marginal but it does work.
Thanks for the help. I have one of these 1/8-1/8 jacks but for some reason it wouldnt work when I had tried it. Maybe I need to fiddle with it a bit more. I had pretty much just given up, thinking it wouldnt work while in drive, but I'll try again.

Thanks for the headphone reply also, I will be ordering them soon. Is there any type of set-up I need to perform to get them working? I assume, if so, then it would be in the manual.
No set-up necessary -- just turn them on and they work. They have both a Channel 1 and Channel 2 -- I think both of mine are on Channel 1, but it's a small slider button so if one channel doesn't work, the other will.

I'm not sure, but I think each screen broadcasts on a different channel. If both headsets are showing the same thing, it doesn't matter which channel the headset is set to.
