When I called around for the PCV/CCV valve, several of the parts providers mentioned a gasket. I don't recall one on Storey's video, my own removal last night or the RAVE.

Use the gasket or not?

TIA

I ordered my valve last night from bimmerspecialist and it listed a gasket and an o ring for purchase seperately. It wasnt but 10 bucks more so I ordered it just in case. Jim About 100 bucks for all shipped.

THanks, Jim.

Attached are two pictures of the gasket. It obviously doesn't go into the CCV and there was no gasket (that I could find) on the intake manifold or old CCV.

Any guideance?

When you're (me, anyway) working on a vehicle that you haven't worked on before, you make some dumb mistakes.

I finally crawled up deeper into the back of the engine and found the gasket (duh).

Got it all done and the truck is still working.:p

Glad to hear everything worked out. Also glad I ordered the gasket with my unit that should be here soon. Jim
