Fellow P38 tragics,

Like many others on this forum, my PCRV valve has leaked and brake fluid has damaged paint around the RH rear part of the firewall. Over the years the RH plastic guard liner has been damaged by leaked brake fluid also.
I purchased a replacement PCRV, but the O- ring was clearly visible on the new part - I suspect it would have leaked immediately.
Attached are photos on my fix for the PCRV design flaw.
used 1.5 mm aluminium plate for the spacer and gasket paper to seal the joint between the PCRV cap and the spacer.
I inserted two flat washers into the end of the cap to compensate for the thickness of the spacer and gasket paper.
I'll let the forum know if it leaks or not.

cheers, Ian

Like many others? I don't think I have heard of this one. Usually when folks have a brake fluid leak it's at a flex line or caliper. I know of all the rigs I;ve had in the shop here there has never been a leak at this part.
