Earlier this year, I had the sway bar links replaced on my truck because it was making an unpleasant noise. After replacing with generic links, the noise was gone, and I felt less through the wheels when going over bumps.

About a month ago, I began noticing a different noise from the front passenger side when going over bumps. It sounds as if I hit a hollow aluminum baseball bat against pavement, or another piece of metal. I fully expect another suspension component needs replacing, as my truck has 170k miles on it. Any suggestions on where to start?

Sway bar bushings. They are vulcanized to the bar so if its them you need to replace the whole bar. They aren't brutally expensive but you need to take out some of the engine cradle bolts to get the bar out, and the new one back in.

Disconnect one, or both of you new links, tie them up out of the way of any moving suspension parts and drive the truck over some bumps (slowly, remember you won't have the sway bar connected to the opposite side suspension) If the noise is gone, its the bushings, if its still there you have to look further. Could also be a strut bushing at the top of the front air shocks as well.

IMO once the suspension gets up there in miles it's pointless replacing a single component unless you like chasing issues and having your car living in the shop/garage. One thing will go tired, you'll firm the suspension up with a new component causing something else down the line to show its age. Just replace everything in one shot at the front minus the struts if they're in good shape... if they're old and showing dry rot, replace those too. Your noise could be literally anything. Go under the car and pry at things with a bar until something moves, or better yet have someone sharply jerk the wheel left/right over and over until you find what bush or joint has play.

I've replaced the lower control arms and the sea bar links. Providing a video of the sound while going over speed bumps. Does this sound like anything specific to anyone?
