Passenger Door Latch

Now that I have fixed my driver's door latch, my passenger door latch is giving me trouble. This week it has been giving me the dreaded "DOOR OPEN RH-F" message intermittently when it is closed. I removed the panel and examined the wires, sprayed some contact cleaner into the latch, and checked the connections/plugs. This worked well for two days, and then the message became constant, every day, all the time. I once again removed the panel, checked the wires, and as a last resort, I removed the latch, opened it up, cleaned everything with contact cleaner and put it back together and in the car. The message is no longer displayed, but the tailgate wont work and the lock does not control the other doors. Any ideas? Specifically, which wires coming off the latch would I check? I tried to work my way through the harness diagram in Rave, but it is too confusing. Am I going to be forced to buy a latch?

My passenger latch got some moisture damage and I could not save it. I didn't go even as far as you trying to save it, but I bought a used replacement latch and everything works fine now. Sorry I don't have any insight for you more than that.
anyone know a place to get good used latches for cheap?

I bought mine from this guy and they work great. He's only got drivers side listed right now, but I bet if you sent him a message he would help you out.
WOW $125.00 is that a good price, plus shipping of 20.00 so you will pay $145.00. Lets see a new one is $254.00 A/B. I sent one out this week for $100.00 bucks, shipping included. HUH
I'm not sure if I have another one, but I am sure I can beat that price and find you one. I must tell ya that $20.00 for shipping is CRAZY :naughty: USPS shipping in the U.S. for that part is $4.95 FedX is $11.60

Well, from Roverland parts they are $150 + shipping. A/B is $254 + shipping. I found that guy on ebay and got the door latch, door outstation, and door amp for $175 shipping included. I then bought another door latch off of him for $90, with $10 shipping I think. But yes to answer your question $125 (even with $20 shipping) is a good price for most websites that have the parts available.

I am mostly caught up on my parts needs as of now, but I'll be needing more soon, and I'll be sure to give you a shout - especially when you find 2 p38 ladders :thumb: lol
my problem is taken care of! scotty has these in stock and ready to ship...good service, great guy to work with, excellent price!

thanks scotty!
