A check on testbook has identified the faulty parking sensor causing the annoying constant beep!

I have ordered a replacement one but nervous about painting it to match the bumper.

Can anyone explain the correct procedures necessary to prevent damaging it please?

I just removed my white ones when I installed my front bull bar (it came with new black ones.) The paint is fairly thick, any competent auto shop would be able to handle this job. If your a DIY type I would use a plastic specific primer then paint/clear coat. If the thickness of the paint is your concern, remember that the actual sensor is already behind a few MM's of plastic. A couple microns of paint isnt going to affect it.

Thanks , I was worried about getting paint into the sensor, I had intended to use a plastic primer then very light wafting with an aerosol.

Do they need masking off in a special way to protect it going through the gap?
