Hello, hoping for some guidance from you gurus with an interesting P38 problem. I am rescuing a dilapidated 2002 Range Rover. Bosch motor. No check engine light, but will not raise up from idle. Just sputters and seems like the throttle has no effect on the engine. If I floor it it still sputters and will not raise from idle. However, if I press the throttle repeatedly like twice per second between zero and about half throttle it starts to rev and actually sounds somewhat healthy. As soon as I stop pumping the throttle it goes back to idle and sputters and dies. Any ideas of what to try here? Many thanks

good on you glad to hear it was that easy.
Get some good disagnostics (nanocom, faultmate, hawkeye ) it is essential for fast fault finding. OBD readers won't help much
