!!!HELP!!!

Just did a head gasket and now if got these problems!

Runs pretty smooth upon start up (besides one or two backfires) but then when you flip it into drive (or reverse) the engine sputters (likes it's dying) and backfires a bunch. When you accelerate, it backfires once or twice. Also, got an exhaust leak somewhere on the left, but can't find it.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Check the sensors that goes into the exhaust, if they get wet it can knacker them. Did on my one.
The o2 sensors? They get wet with condensation, so that's news to me.........

Plug leads (you've checked) and camshaft timing/180 degrees out would be the first thing I look at - followed by valve clearance being too tight leaving a valve open.
