I have a 97 P38. First, the climate control and radio stopped working but came back on a few minutes later. This happened 3 times over a two week period but now it's out and won't come back on. Also, when it was working, the AC wasn't working well and the book was displayed on the climate control screen. I changed the R7 relay which controlled the driver side blower motor and it started blowing colder/harder and the text book went away - for about a day. Then the textbook came back on and a couple of days later the same relay blew again. A few days after that, the whole system, including the radio, went out. Any ideas?

The sticky test would be great if I was trying to diagnose what's drawing power from the battery. However, I'm trying to diagnose why there is no power getting to the radio and climate control. I would think that I need to be sure there is power leaving the BCM and that this power is actually getting to the radio. Then I would need to be sure that the radio is properly grounded. If the power is getting to the radio and there is no disruptions in the ground wire, then it's obvious that the short is in the radio or climate control. My bet is that it is not properly grounded so I need to trace the ground wire. The ground in the passenger side foot panel is fine so I guess I would have to follow this back to the radio and see where the short is.
