Hi Guys,

New to this forum but i have now purchased a year 2000 RR P38 Diesel, runs ok really no issues when warm, just that when cold or still warming up 0-5 miles say the idle speed moves between 900 and 1500 rpm, no stalling just seems to over rev!

Car runs perfectly when warm.

Any ideas what needs to be looked at.

regards

Mike

try to disconnect the engine ecu temp sensor (its on the cylinder head on the right-hand side as you look at the engine from the front of the vehicle under the inlet manifold very close to the number 4 cylinder ,the one closer to the front is the gauge sender unit) btw its a pig to get to. the ecu should then go to a default setting if the sender is disconnected, see if the engine runs any better,if it does its the sender unit that has failed.
