Hi everyone. I had a major issue with the p38 last week, which I would like to share. Symptoms included haywire teach and speedo. ABS and T/C lights going on and off. Since I wasn't home my partner call the mobile mechanic, whom looked around and tested fuse for an hour before saying that the ECBM is stuffed and theres nothing he could do. I got to the car a week later after returning from work. I removed the battery and cleaned terminals and pulled all ECBM fuses and cleaned, since I have no multimeter. I put in a new batter and checked for faults using the blackbox solution resetting tool. Found two faults both voltage related. I cleared these and started the car with no other issues. The car drove for 2 hours before symptoms re-surfaced. I have come to the conclusion that the alternator is not charging. Anyway don't go pulling any computer out until you try this.
