Hi, this is my 1st post
I have a 2001 P38 4.6 Vogue and am having problems with Fuse 14. According to the owners manual Fuse 14 is for the Fuel Release, Rear Doors central locking and tailgate central locking and trailer socket.

When I put in a new fuse the fuel release and central locking of the rear doors work fine. So does the tailgate.

When I turn the ignition on the fuse blows. The fuel release and rear door locking no longer works, but the tailgate still does - weird but I can live with that. As these all worked before I turned on the ignition, I'm ruling these out as the cause of the problem.

This leaves the trailer socket that I suspect is the problem.

What is the easiest way to disconnect the trailer socket - I don't use it. Or is there an easy fix for this problem?

Thanks

Graham

Unplug it and/or unplug the lighting module for it if it is factory. Chances are you have a build up of corrosion on the pins and a simple cleaning of the socket would suffice as well.
