Oil is leaking from the oil filter seal.

changed the oil filter,

topped off the oil, still squirting out.

I suspect this is a stuck pressure relief valve. I don't see it in the ROM. Is it accessible from outside?

Any thoughts or recommendations?

thanks

Are you sure there is only one seal present? I've had it one time the old seal was left on the housing, the new filter has a new seal so there were two rubber rings. That leaks for sure.

I am embarrassed to say that has happened to me. The high pressure shot of oil coming out drained about three quarts onto my newly epoxied floor. On another rig I discover a nic in the filter housing surface that resulted in a small but almost impossible to find leak.

Ahhh, Rover ownership. Expect the worse before you have inspected and hope for the best when you get under there...

I've had the "double seal" problem with Citroën suspension spheres before. You think oil filters are bad, try thin runny hydraulic fluid that's about as thin as paraffin, pumped up to 70 bar :-D
