Is there a reason I can't find an oil pan gasket for my 1998 range rover? They all seem to say 1999 and up?

Easy, because there isn't one.
+1 Through me for a loop too the first time. Actually. the dealer sold me one, for my 98'. When I tried to fit it, I was like WTF!! Needless to say I only call the dealer, in a last resort situation, especially after that, and several other similar incidents.

Hylosil 101 or 106 is what the shop manual recommends.

I actualy changed my Sump/Oil Pan for the Gasket and Alloy Sump off the Thor Engine. Easy to do and No more Leaks at Present and No Possibility of Surplus Silicone going up the Oil Pickup Pipe.

Cheers
