Hi, I recently bought a 2005 BMW engined RR with 125 k km's. My feeling is it has been run for some time without changing the oil and the bottom end is noisy when you start it. It runs well, seems powerful enough and when going is relatively quiet.
Any thoughts as to what the damage is likely to be and the costs to repair it?
Will adding STP make any difference, or too far gone do you think?
Thanks,
Jon

Maybe worth a Read up on BMW vanos issues, they can sound like heavy bottom end problems when they aren't quite working right on have the wrong oil in.

I have a friend who has a 5 series with this engine and tranny. I believe it is the torque converter which common in these vehicles even with short/high miles. it is an easy dealer fix however.
