On my 2017 TD6...the engine must be warm (just driven) engine off but ignition on then it will read it...double check you manual as it took me a few times to figure out what was needed for that and the DEF reading...

On a 2016 Vogue 4.4 diesel I can't get an oil level reading. No matter what, it always comes up with 'not available'. Any ideas?

In 2020 I bought my 2017 RRS TDV6 from a higher end used car dealer. A few weeks after purchase I checked the oil level through the instrument panel and it said "not available." I know that this diesel engine requires very specific Castrol oil so for my own piece of mind I did the oil change myself to make sure I had the right stuff. I pulled out way more oil than the 6.3 qts (5.96 liters), but only put in the required 6.3 qts. The oil level reading still read, "Not available." I would imagine that the previous person who did the oil change kept adding more oil thinking more oil would finally make the level register. I went to the dealership and it turned out the oil level sensor was not fully plugged in. Easy fix.
