My 2001 p38 4.6 auto suddently lost all drive forward. Reverse still working. Any ideal what vould be wrong?

So it suddenly failed without warning? No suspiciously black ATF oil? No history of overheat problems with the transmission?

No forward drive means failed A clutch.
It is far more common with the weaker 4HP22 box but your car has the beefier 4HP24, but I guess anything is possible.

You might wanna look for a replacement unit. The 4.6 were a lot more common in sweden than norway where the 2.5DSE is more common.

Of course the box can also be repaired by a transmission workshop.
