Hi, I'm a newbie RR owner and member to this forum and appreciate the need for the rules you have but ... I have just searched for "how to use OBD2 scanner". I limited the search to the L322 forum but still got 452 'finds'. Am I expected to read through all 452 finds until I get to the answer I need and maybe never find it! May I suggest you need a better, more definitive, means of searching that drills down more into the subject matter. maybe limit the search to subjects only. Yes that will mean some are missed but may also encourage members to be very subject specific when posting. Anyway ... just my observation as a newbie, I will post my question to the forum and see if it survives censorship! :D

Good evening. I am a former REME Vehicle Mechanic in the British Army from the NW. I'm well used to working on the Landrover Wolf and 90/110 but I have always longed to own a Range Rover. It was the classic that caught my eye when I owned a pedal car version in the early 80's and a Corgi motorway patrol car (along with a cracking Rover Vitesse). I'm in my late 30's and I want to buy a big family car to keep forever (or until it fails). I have leased cars for the passed decade and will continue to lease a small car for my other half but I want the big, go everywhere, do everything motor that is still comfortable and safe to have little kids in the back. I've decided I want as late a L322 as I can find, with as low mileage as I can find and from the Westminster spec upwards (ideally SE or Autobiography) all under £20,000 hopefully. I have done some research over the passed 12 months and even took a couple on test drives. My question is, is any car I buy doomed to fail spectacularly on the ensuing couple of years as every seems to tell me so? Am I going to be shelling out a couple of grand every 6 months or relatively simple jobs? How much can I do myself given my previous jobs and are there any must-have tools I should own?
Any advice at all will be very welcome.

P. S. My wife wants a Disco 4 but I've told her it's less car, same tax and mpg for the same money.
