Hello. Installed a new torque and zf4hp22 transmission yet she doesn't move in either Reverse or Drive. Not my 1st installation however it is my 1st non-working install. As per Ascrofts instructions, she received 9.5 Quarts (dipstick reads low fluid and hesitant to fill more as I've had a tranny fail once before.) Out of ideas as to what could be its issue. Appreciate all responses. Thanks.

first of all, did you seat the torque converter fully into the pump?. secondly, a completely empty unit such a fresh overhaul/rebuilt or a new unit will take roughly 12 give or take a couple, based on how much residual fluid used during the build.
with all that done, you should have dropped a quart of fluid on an empty converter before install so, it would not spin dry at 1000 rpm or more at initial start up.

further in depth diagnosis, do you have oil pressure? If so what is it? if no pressure the trans oil pump may have suffered. Did you flush the cooler and cooling lines for debris residual from the failure?.

check and reply.

Converter Correctly installed. Oil pressure correct. Lines and cooler cleaned. Suspect that the 9.5 quarts isn't enough volume. Will fill and repost. Thanks.
