New Pads....Dust, Dust and More Dust.

This is my first post as I find nearly all the info I need on my p38 is on here, thanks for that !!

This is just a note to warn you of Green Stuff 6000 brake pads and ask a question.

Had these fitted last month, would have done it myself but for the fact that the nuts were all jamed and the calipers would not come off. Lack of care by the last owner.....

Got the car back with new gide pins and disk, so all was fine and I can STOP!!!

Thing is I have never seen so much brake dust, my nice wheels are black after every 200 miles, thought it might be them beding in but now they have done 2600 and still the same.

Saw on here somthing about Green Stuff 7000 but cant find the post, EBC say they give the lowest dust.

So do I go for the 7000's @ £67, Use a different make or just keep the car looking like junk :?:

Thanks.

I thought EBC Green Stuff pads were supposed to create less dust than most, are you sure you haven't been stiched up with some Made in China Copies or something like that?

Cheers

Hope not.....got them from Famous Four cost for pads and discs was over £160 and the boxes were printed and instructions in English, but then........
I agree with Col. Clearly something is wrong. The EBC's don't leave anywhere near the same brake dust on rims as other makes.

I think you need to remove the wheels and check the pads are still in there and that the garage didn't just fit a cheap set of Mintex pads in place of the EBC's.
I also used the EBC Green Stuff pads on my RR P38... to full satisfaction. As a matter a fact: these pads made sure that I didn't have to clean my wheels too often. The dust produced was really so little (that even I noticed it :) )...

So I guess that something is wrong in your case.

Regards,
G.

PS: EBC Green Stuff Pads should cost you +/- GPB 55 ex. VAT (for a complete set of pads)
I have the green stuff on my Jag, i did put red on initially but found i had no breaking for the first 20 miles (Not good) so changed to green.

I was thinking of swapping the p38's to green.

Where is the best place to pick a set up?
(I guess the £55 is per axle)
Yes it´s strange....

I put the EBC 6000 in the rear and I almost say no dust at all!
Got Greens on mine and the dust situation is a lot better........
