new issue after a day of heavy rain

I left my 99 rover parked at the library for most of the day yesterday and it rained heavily all day. When I fired it up to go back home, I noticed a fairly severe issue start to take shape. I am having trouble describing the symptoms, so please bear with me. It feels almost like there is something wedged between my front right weel. I can accelerate with no trouble but when I take my foot off the gas, the car slows down fairly quickly while making a strange rubbing noise like something is jammed up down there. It also jams up pretty hard when I brake as well. From listening with my windows open it seems like it is coming from the right front of the car but I cannot be sure. Any ideas???

Does it pull up in a staight line when you brake hard?

Cheers
yup, perfectly straight
I was thinking along the the lines of a siezed brake caliper but that proably knocks that theory out of the window.

Cheers
Any pulsation?
Yes, there is a subtle, but definitely noticible pulsation. almost feels like it is up and down.
The problem is with my front differential. I don't know if it is a slipped bearing or seal or something or if I need a whole new assembly.. Anyone know where I should go from here? I'm in Indiana.

How did you arrive at this conclusion? :geek: Is it full of water from wading or something?
I took it to a local shop who diagnosed the issue as being with the front differential. they said that the only time is makes the strange howling noise is when the car is decelerating and has nothing to do with anything that I might have picked up off the road. They said that they could not do any of the work there and that I should have it towed to the dealer. I went home today and pulled the drain plug on it. very little oil came out and there was some metal on the plug itself. I put new gear oil in to see if that would solve the problem but it didn't do anything at all...
