Hi everyone. I love Range Rover and I am ready to buy what I call my dream car. I would like a new one but right now I can only get a used one.

A local dealer has a 2006 Land Rover Range Rover HSE with 96,583 miles for $15,942 which is negotiable. I will buy this all in cash but I was wondering if is a great vehicle to get for this price?

I keep hearing about the transmission dying littler after 120K or so. I just love this car so much but my credit is not good to get one with lower miles.

What's the average maintenance expense?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Re: New here. Based on your experience, is this a good deal??

Iron range,
While it's difficult for me to know if it is value for money (in Aussie we pay heaps more for our rovers) may I suggest that you allow for some repairs and maintenance costs as in my opinion careFREE driving and rangerovers don't go hand in hand....good luck.

Apparently the 02-05 models had a 'stupid' (politely put) front prop shaft and diff design that was corrected in '06. Check that your vehicle has 2 universals in the front shaft. Just a thought
