So. How do I remove the Nav unit form the trunk? Are there special tools. Can you make the tool.
I really want to remove it so I can disconnect and get my radio back.
Also. Below is the model I have. Without the writing on the main part. Which model is it?

The "SMD4091" tool is the same as the generic radio removal tools available at Schuck's/Kragen/NAPA. You can try skewers or wire brads as well.

Very cool. Thanks for the response. I'll have it out tomorrow.
Anyone know which "Mk" my system is?
I thought it was a Mk 3, but another forum showed this as the Mk 4.

If it's got the DVD symbol, it's a MK4. Do you have the same plugs on your old nav? The one P38 unit I saw had different plugs (3, not just 2). The other thing is, as the MK 4 was made for a 16:9 screeen, your pic is going to be 'squashed'.

****, looking over rave and this thread makes me feel like an idiot. I wanted to unplug my unit to see if the white screen/static will disappear, and was taking all the plastics around it off, I could have just pried it out with a pointy metal rod. ughhhhh
Would removing the fuse accomplish the same thing (re-start the system)?

Thanks to everyone who helped!
I unplugged the Nav and all was well in the sound system.
On that note. Funny thing happened.
When I went to replace the package shelf, I wasn't paying attention to the seat unlatch button.
Replaced the shelf only to discover that the button was missing(slipped out and was tucked nicely under the self).
Had to re-remove the self to move button into place..
Lots of fun. But at least I learned something.
On that note. When I checked the left side, I noticed the button was also missing. So I removed that shelf and popped it into place.
So everything works and I got to clean up/out under the shelves(I would like to know how leaves got in there. I understand the dead moths!).
Once again. Thanks to all of you out there. You have saved my a lot of time and money. And someday I will fly everyone out here for dinner!

Well removing the fuse on mine for a few days didn't have any effect. Still just a white screen comes on.
Do you think that I need to actually unplug it from the back??
What did you use to remove it or did u just go and get the right tool.

I think you'll have to unplug the back of the Nav.
I did a search and found the right removal tool.
I then made mine out of a thick gauge coat hanger.
From there it was easy.

You don't have a picture of it handy, do you? Googled Images but came up empty.
