I recently purchased a 2004 Rover and love it. I have been reading posts to learn more about the Rover as I do all my own maintenace.

Recenlty my NAV screen began by being faint, then black. Restarting the vehicle fixed it for afew days and now my screen is black. Yet the back light is on.

I read some topics and from what I read, it could be as simple as the GPS cd no tbeing read correctly. So I went to clean the CD off and noticed my CD drive for my GPS had no power. I checked fuses, reset connectors , nothin. My radio and cd changer wrk fine, just no screen nor Land Rove logo at startup.

Any ideas are greatly apprciated before I start tracing wires everywhere .

Thanks

start by looking at the battery. if the battery voltage is low the car will still start but it will sacrifice non crucial components first such as nav and radio to put the power on crucial parts.

If the nav died check out www.roverupgrades.com for instructions on how to remove and replace with original or upgraded MKIV version
