I have searched and searched and have not been able to find an answer to help. I have MP3's on a USB device. I plug it in and everything works just fine - the order of the albums is not alphabetical, more that it's based on the date/time stamp as to when they were copied. However, the track order is all over the place. Initially all tracks were alphabetical, then I updated a bunch using Mp3tag so that it was "# - name" thinking that would do it. Now the order is just random. Has anyone been able to get tracks listed in album order rather than in alphabetical or random order? Please share the secret! Thanks.

Yes, we put our MP3s on a USB drive. Much better than ripping CDs or transferring them to the onboard hard drive.

I don't recall an ordering issue for our USB music. What is the file structure of the directories on the USB drive? We have something like this:

/
/Artist
/Album
/[#] Track

For example:
\Abba\Gold_ Greatest Hits\04 Mamma Mia.mp3
\Anastacia\Left Outside Alone (Single)\01 Left Outside Alone.mp3

I just copy the individual album directories out my iTunes Music folder onto the USB drive because iTunes formats the directory structure like the above, including the numbered track MP3 filenames.
