Curious - is it possible for me to use a new style RR keyfob with my '96 4.0 SE?

I would definitely like to update if it is simply the matter of ordering a new style key programmed for my vehicle.

Why on earth would you want to do that!?

I wish it were possible, then I could go back to having the far superior P38 folding fob, with replaceable buttons. This key is massive and wears really quickly :(

Ummm... maybe I like how the new one looks better? lol

I've had this car for like years man I'm just trying to keep it interesting.

In which case, no you cant. It's a BMW system and the transponder in the key is completely different as is the RD sistem. It also has more buttons (it opens the boot)...
