the air suspension was inactive but he said its because the batt was of and he would get it reset, is this a fix or just a way to hide it

"53"? This must be a local slang bit as it means nothing here in the US. Something that will be of great help would be to put your acctual year in your profile and update with your location. Different yearas have different issues just as different markets can make for different answers as well.

Sounds like its UK and was registered in the September 2003. Its a UK DVLA thing!! Stupid system!

My car was registered March 06 making it an 06 whereas if it was registered in September 06 my reg would contain the number 56 etc etc. Over here in the UK new Car Registrations take place on the 1st of March and the 1st of September.

I stand corrected though if i'm inaccurate??

be very carefull with the air suspenssion being inactive, he may be able to re set but if it comes back on again it may mean a new pump 300/400 quid.

Just had my dash done under warranty as it was completely illegible.

I think it was around £250 by some specialist.

If the pixel problem is like the issues they have with BMW displays (and I have no idea if it is or isn't) then you could probably send the display away and have it fixed. I have this issue on my e39 5 series BMW and it's about US$200 to get it fixed.

hi habanero , how did you get it done under warranty, if it is an 03 as stated on the bottom, was it some extended plan!
hi Rogan, i was told that they do have the same problem as the clocks in the rangerover are the same as the x5 but cosmetically different
thanks daveo

MY BMW dash has an intermittent pixel fault so I have tried attacking it with contact cleaner yet, but I'll give it a lash sometime in the future.

FYI there is someone selling used instrument clusters on ebay for 79.99, and the display was worse than mine when I recieved it. They won't take the cluster back either. Pain in the ass to swap out the cluster to find it is worse...
