Hi all.

On a L322 what is the permissible wheel size difference between front and rear axle?
Currently have 255/50/R20 all round but must replace front two only.
Will 265/50R20 be okay? Diameter is 30.43 inches (77.3 cm) as opposed to 30.4 inches ( 76.3 cm)
Wheel circumference is 242.94 cm as opposed to 239.8 cm.
So diameter and wheel size circumference are 1.3 % larger.
Would that pose a problem to the diff locks ?

cheers

No mismatch is recommended, you will trigger Traction control, transmission and differential issues. Always make sure all 4 wheels have the same outside rolling diameter, even if the width is different.

got you,
thanks a lot. Surprised that not even such a small difference is tolerable though.

The system is quite sensitive...best to buy 4 new tires, and sell the other 2 good ones. A lot cheaper than dealing with multiple faults (for which you should buy a GAP IID tool) or having the suspension not respond or transmission not shift beyond 2nd or 3rd gear due to the mismatch in the tire size.
