Hey guys,

I'm basically at my 105K service and I came across the 2003-2005 and the 2006-2008 maintenance schedules, obviously since I have an '03 I should probably follow that schedule, but the 2006-2008 seems to be more thorough, more oil changes, and it recommends things like the spark plugs being swapped at 105K instead of 120k...I'm new to the range rover world and just wanted some feedback from people that have had these cars for a while. I'm obviously trying to save as much as possible, like many of you, by doing the service myself, but at the same time, i'll rather spend a bit more now then much more later.

Thanks

ps. if you guys want the links, here they are:

I would do the plugs, air filter and coolant at 105k-

As far as oil i think 15K is a stretch, it has been rumoured to cause "sludge" buildup. I would follow the 7500 or 6 months schedule.....

Completely different engines between the two sets of years.

I agree that the service interval for oil change is way too generous, I go between 5-7k miles. I also think the other periodic intervals are too long, like the transmission fluid, the spark plugs & wires, air, x-mission & oil filters...

if you use the paper filter from rr then change oil it at 6500. If you use another non-paper based finlter i think 12 K is OK on synthetic oil - personal opinion. The problems i know of on the paper filters at 15k is they paper particles break off the filter and run through the lower block check areas - causing build up then eventually blockage and = new reman engine.

Tranny fluid and diffs + transfer case checked every year and changed every 3. PLugs and wires at 40 - 50K intervals.

So far so good for me.

I don't think so...all I can find is the filter itself...

K&N HP series oil filters incorporate resin impregnated cellulose media that is superior over plain paper media.
