Do you mean the L405 with the TD6 engine?

My maintenance schedule came as a brochure along with the owners manual. If you don't have one with yours and it's not with that package of paperwork, post up again and I'll scan my copy for you.

Yes - the L405 with the TD6 - and Onyx Z32 the manual itself has a chart but it's very hard to read. I was hoping for a easy to read chart. If you could scan your copy that would be great. I have 10K mi and have changed the oil twice and just rotated tires but I know there is more coming...

I don't think you can have too many oil changes, but you can certainly not have enough. Also those intervals are "average" and some of us live in areas with extreme heat and/or cold, so more frequent oil changes might make sense. I'll be taking my RR in for the second oil change and I'm at 15,000 miles. It just seems weird to go so long between oil changes ... maybe it is just some of us showing our age and what we have been used to doing for a long time!

most oil used is synthetic now, frequent oil changes is overkill.

I usually trade mine before the first 15K oil change anyways

Thanks for the pic of the missing book. I have to admit - I like working on my RR. I am a new bilateral amputee and cant tell you how therapeutic it is to get back under a car. Anyway - land rover knoxville recommended 8K. I agree that synthetics are the difference. Interestingly, some vehicles with longer service intervals use a large amount of oil in theory giving a larger reservoir of detergent. The TD6 only holds 4 qts. Just my thoughts ... the oil discussions on discoweb seem to never end.

Most "discussions" on Dweb never seem to end........Too many ego's for the servers they have there. I gave up posting stuff, after getting *****ed out by Mr Right All The Time for not doing exactly what he said to do, regards an axle swap. Love how some idiots think they have a right to tell you what to do with your time and/or money.

No problem, and yeah if you enjoy doing it then by all means go for it!

I used to drive my L322 to Knoxville from NY a lot and LR Knoxville makes me miss our local LR dealer's store. A few years ago they got rid of the LR only store (with all the theme decorations, test hill, high ceilings, etc) and combined it with Volvo & Porsche in the same, soulless, bland building.

synthetic oil isnt the end all be all solution even though its great... it still accumulates grit, metal shavings, and moisture. also like previously mentioned different weights will keep the vehicle prime in diff temps. i run different weights in the winter vs summer. i am convinced the schedule they provide is great for breaking a vehicle down just in time to buy another one before you actually need it. i dont care how sexy the oil is, im not waiting 15k miles to change it on a 100k+ vehicle , especially if you own..... id rather spend a few bucks up front and keep the car fresh than try to stretch it and pay for it later when the car is worth less. just my opinion =) i am on my 2nd oil change at 16k miles and i even had a hard time waiting that long
