Pretty sure my LR dealer only does the oil change and service light reset task on that list.

And the great irony is, now that LR has effectively doubled the service interval, they no longer provide free maintenance. As we fast approach the day where each new car has a 30 qt oil sump and a 50K oil change interval, it won't be long until dealers moan they are losing opportunities to upsell customers on servicing items and we'll be back to shorter intervals.

Are they getting double the miles between service based on the use of synthetic oil?

On your model year - as well as MY06 - unfortunately you can only reset it via IDS or other compatible diagnostics tool (my Faultmate MSV2 resets it, but so do other, far cheaper specialized SII reset tools via the OBD-II connector.) On MY08 and 09 you can do so manually from the instrument cluster by following a sequence of button presses. I think that for the "new" 2010+ models we are back to diagnostics being required to reset the indicator.

So of course I had to try the instrument cluster instructions just to make sure. It didn't work as expected. Though I did find this:

1. Turn key to ignition position II
2. Hold down the trip reset button on the instrument cluster
3. Turn key to ignition position I
4. The mileage section will show:

R -05-07
-08-0

Until you release the button.

Can't do anything else though.

So I just paid $600 for my 60k scheduled maintenance. What do you guys think about not going with the schedule and just get oil changes? And on top of that they charged me $125 for wipers... said something about ordering them from BMW? Is that true?

I think I just got ripped off... dealership is the Landrover Tysons Corner, VA.

Thank you, these are great. They are the sport model, and I have a 2007 RR HSE. I would think that the maintenance schedules would differ quite a bit. Do you have the maintenance schedule for the 2007 RR HSE? I have searched and all I find is the maintenance schedule for the sport.

Any 2006 owners have the 10 year service performed yet? My build date is November 2005, and have an appontment this Friday for the 10 year service interval. Anticipating that there will be a comma in the final bill for this one

My 06 just had it's 10 birthday last week. I just changed the oil/filter both diff's and x-fer case fluids. Have not thought about the 10 year maint. Not sure what they would fix/replace that I have not already done, except some software update. Let us know how it gies and what all they do.
