Are your parking (side) lights also on?

Has someone turned the headlights on?

Did you disconnect the headlights at the bulb or elsewhere in the wiring loom?

hi p38arover,

the light switch is definitely in the off position. Ignition off. Side/parking lights are off.
Just the haedlights come on.
I disconnected the headlights via the plastic plug behind the headlight ( not the 3 pin on the lamp itself).
the side/indicator units were also disconnected at the plastic plug behind the lamp unit.

verrrrry strange...

Well...cured the fault.
it was the dim/dip relay. Now replaced courtesy of Ebay.
