Loose suspension/rattle sound from front suspension?

Well just as subject says, I hear something loose up front when I hit bumps. Sounds like something on the suspension is loose? Dealer said "they tightened some bushings or something" but obviously that did not fix the problem. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the club and thanks for joining (the clunk club not RR.net). You can't really tighten bushings, they're either shot or their ok, and your dealer needs to look elsewhere, like the ball joints.

Mine's in right now hopefully just getting some new sway bar bushings. I'd hate to think my BJ's (ha ha) were shot at 39k.

I went in for the same problem.. and their response after checking was that they 'couldn't recreate the sound.' Since I'm not too savy mechanically w/ autos.. I didn't know what to tell them to check.

So Ukraine.. what do I tell them to check.., I'm sick of their run around. I have warranty till July.. but would like to handle this now rather than wait.

Thanks my European Brother,

Bojan
hey no problem...You might have to take it for a ride with them and reproduce the sound, unfortunately. Tell them to check the front sway bar bushings which are known to wear quickly. They should be aware of this as it is fairly common in the RRS. It could also be the ball joints, though that is less likely unless you have higher mileage. From everything I've read (mostly thanks to this forum), it is one of those two things.

Also bring in a copy of the TSB like I did, which states "Knocking noise over uneven pavement while driving straight ahead". The title is literally what I was experiencing. Sometimes you gotta treat them like 10 year olds and wonder why you know more than the service advisors there.

I just got mine back about an hour ago after they replaced the front sway bar bushings and it drives like new. Good luck.
