Locked in Neutral

I went to put my car in park and I can not move past neutral. Now the shifter is stuck in neutral in between High and Low. I can not take the key out of the ignition. I do not have any errors on the dash. I can start the car and turn it off, but thats about it. I checked to see if the brake lights come on when I depress the pedal and it appears that they do. Any ideas are appreciated.

Hi

On some models of the P38 is a shift interlock fitted. This is a lock that allows you to shift the gears only from P to R to N to D when the brake is pressed.

I have no time now but I commented on this problem before with a reference to the ETM on how to check the shift interlock. Search will bring it up.
