What disc for which hack? You aren't giving us much to go on here.
The only disk is a nav disk and the the only hack is the 1791,is there others that do anything helpful?

Nav discs usually are not backwards compatible as firmware allows for newer versions. The cons? The main con is that the older disc is is rejected with an error message. Another possibility is that in exploring other options you completely brick your Navigation unit... not likely something you want to happen.

Is this one proprietary tool or are there many that will do it?
Is that a plug and play unit with a harness and factory plug or a OBDII programmer?

the 1791 diagnostics code was disabled with subsequent releases. i can't remember which year it was disabled (2007?), but if it's anything like updating to the latest nav disc, i can only assume the nav system software update that's initiated when you insert the newer disc is what disables 1791 for those (who like me were) on the original nav system software. i stayed on the original nav disc for years to maintain 1791, but last year i got the latest nav disc for free so i upgraded my GAP EAS tool to the IID tool so i could enable nav on the move.

Just spoke to a rep about all it can do and for just under $400 I will definitely think about this purchase.
Still no response on finding my bad TPMS sensor which I would like my wife to rely on but this would turn that intermittent light off fir good.
Then there is my PO171/PO174 codes which I am still looking into.

I will fill you up regarding the codes within 2 weeks (I've left my RRSsc in the garage to be fixed and will not be picking it up by 15th) but it had exactly the same two codes (both banks lean). So far I've only cleaned the MAF sensor (to no avail), didn't even had time to swap it with a working one from my Disco (LR3 for you on the far side of the pond) in step two.
These codes can actually show up for three reasons (mostly): a shot MAF sensor (there's an extremely cheap cure for this*), one of four O2 sensors shot (this gets expensive) or air leak somewhere between the MAF and the combustion chamber. The mating surface between the supercharger and the intake manifold may be a culprit here, but once I will know it, I will tell.
Also: the older engines used to flash these codes for no reason at all and a software update for the engine ECU cured this, but I don't know about the MY09. Perhaps? Your IID Tool will be able to update all the ECUs in your car to the newest available versions.
* oh, and the MAF. The MAF used on 4.2 and 4.4 Land Rover engines from the RR Sport (LR3, FFRR) is EXACTLY the same unit as used on a 1998-2003 Mazda 323 1.5 litre 16v (BJ generation). This Mazda 323 generation and this engine ONLY. As I was browsing the listings, the "Mazda" unit is about 10 times cheaper, while being exactly the same hardware.

And knowing the MAF can be MUCH easier to source and cheaper as well is a huge bonus!
I'll wait till you get yours figured out before I go buy/find another MAF,be nice to borrow one for an hour because it takes less than that to throw those codes.

1791 works in my 06 RRS, it does not work on my 08 RRSSC. I can't find the link but I believe the 1791 works only in the 06 vehicles.
Get the IIDTool (with bluetooth). It has saved me so much time in debugging the vehicle and understanding what is going on.
