No power to the left (driver side) number plate light. I've traced wiring to the rear bumper area and found no breaks or exposed insulation and removed the light housing at the tailgate and disassembled. All connections are intact, the Passenger side light has power, Driver side is dead. I've checked fuses in glove box and under rear panel. All other lights and bulbs are functioning. Two questions: #(1) Am I missing something ridiculously obvious? and #(2) In lieu of an immediate solution, is there any potential harm in disconnecting the wiring on the left (dead side) and splicing into the 'hot' wires at the junction on the right side, i.e. running both lights off the power supply from the passenger side?
