For 16 years i have ordered keys successfully.
Today at 3 am They rang me to inform me that no more keys can be sent outside the UK.

These knobs at LR are trying everything to put us off their cars.

Yes, in theory Motores Satanicos in San José sells them, but they give you a really hard time, charge you an arm and a leg and are most awkward.

So. Until Sloth has the solution (3 for me please) please friends

- practise
- make sure you have a spare LH door lock from Marty

Are the keys still available in the UK? I was under the impression that they were no longer available everywhere.

I have ordered genuine LR parts (fuse box and door lock) from island4x4 in the UK. It was cheaper buy them from the UK and pay international shipping to Boston than to buy them from one of the US based vendors.

If the keys are still available in the UK, I'm sure you can find a UK based vendor or a private party that will ship them to you.

As I understand the situation, there are now no more fobs left for any NAS spec P-38.
The UK Spec uses a different frequency, thus are incompatible with our radios.
You could try to sweet talk land Rover into sending you a new radio and new fobs that have been programmed for your truck......Once you convince them you actually own it, Oh yea, and you can get 97% of the British Parliament to buy into your scheme..........
In other words, forget it.
This is why we are hoping Marty and Sloth retire soon so they can devote 100% of their time to solving our P-38 issues:dance:

In the meantime, if you have a fob, be nice to it, and if not, as Annette says, practice the EKA procedure, and be sure to keep the latches in good shape, and replace as needed.....

Ahhh........So they may actually have the NAS fobs, but unless you have a UK rego, and can prove who you are, they will not sell one to you?

Why are these wankers at LR not providing them outside the UK? Is there a British consumer protection law that forces them to continue providing these in the UK?

Different frequency.
Yes they are still available. I bought one 11 months ago.
But they will only sell them to their stealerships.
Hence motores satánicos in SJO sell 315 Mhz ones but only with CR paperwork.

NAS fobs operate on 315 MHz, UK, and most of the rest of world, operate on 433 MHz. I suspect that there are no further 315 MHz ones left while there still are 433 ones available. Here you need to take your V5 (registration document) showing you as the owner along with proof of identity to a main dealer before they will order one for you. Don't blame LR, blame the FCC for ignoring what the rest of the world did when they allocated the radio spectrum making the US incompatible with just about every other country in the world.

Richard all of the Americas have 315 mhz.
Hence as I said before, they are also selling these keys here.

Or, LR UK sold them for any country for years. I have ordered a lot of them and now in true Brexit spirit they don't ship to France either.

They have gone so nuts that now they don't even allow Allmakes to sell original LR parts outside the UK.

This is unfortunately not a joke.

Seeing as how LR does not seem very cooperative lately on the parts scene, maybe a very long shot?
Could a determined dealer in NA get a EU receiver and fobs?....I wonder.....

Alternatively, what is involved in using a fob from a known vehicle and sm035 to have that fob work on the current rig?
Scotty hinted this was possible, and I now have 2 spare, working fobs from my white 02 that could be re tasked for the Borrego??
As he has the settings from both Becms on his data base, how tough a job?

Not tough at all. Requires about 10 minutes on a newish one and an hour on an AMR BECM

Sorry overlooked the other question.
14 months ago I sold my last, new 315 mhz one to a friend, who bought a p38 without a working fob. This one I had ordered for someone else who chose not to pay.

Had to get the barcode converted in Cyprus and programming was done quickly.

After that I ordered one more new one for a client. So they still had them last November.

I have no idea why they are playing up.
For other models that have the Lucas 10as alarm I order a 433 mHz remote and buy an alarm 2nd hand.

Yes, that would be possible - but as I mentioned in the other thread currently going on about fobs, locking and all that - you would then effectively have a mix and matched lockset between the key blades and the remotes and the 2 vehicles.

Also as mentioned - we are definitely trying to find a solution to the key fob issue... I am sure we will crack it, hopefully sooner rather than later... keep nursing the current ones for the meantime!!

I’ve been wanting to get a extra door key for some time now just haven’t looked into it until today. I have one working fob which I treasure dearly. I called our local Land Rover dealer to inquire. He told me I needed to bring my proof of ownership and drivers licence and he would give me a key code so I can take that to a local locksmith that they use to cut keys. It would be around 20 dollars per key. When I arrived he said he made a mistake and he would have to order it and would arrive already cut. Cost was 18 dollars and had to come directly from Land Rover. Part number was ASR1043. While I was there I inquired about a new fob. I told them about hearing that they no longer support replacement fobs for the P38. It took sometime for him to research it but he said I can order a new fob. Said that the part number has changed and quoted me a price of 362 dollars. I inquired about the new part number but he said that he wasn’t allowed to give me that information. I didn’t order one but he assured me that was no problem to get a replacement ready to go. Bluff City Land Rover in Memphis Tennessee is my local dealership. Just wanted to add to this hopefully will help.

I ordered one on VIN number, turned out that my locks have been changed, I also still could order the FOB, what wasn't cheap..

Currently, this issue is only affecting P-38s in "The Americas", not "The rest of the world",
So even though they are dear, you can still get them........We may too, if one of the posts is correct.
I am going to have my LR dealer connection do some more digging on Monday.
Possibly, due to a part number change, they have gone off the page?

Bolt wish I had more specifics on which parts catalog he found it but said he went through three to find the new part number. Good luck to you sir!
