I wasn't sure if maybe the key fob battery affected the immobilizer or not. The key turns maybe 5 degrees and no further, and that's it, like it's the wrong key for the cylinder. Now that you mention it, I just checked and no the steering column does not unlock as I insert it, as it does with the second key.
