Got batteries and buttons for the key fob. Went to replace the battery and realized that the previous owner had removed the old batteries.. thought to myself, this does not look good. Put new batteries, went through the instructions and nada, nothing, zippo... There is a red dot on the front of the fob, should this light up if the fob is functioning? (Mine doesn't)

generally the light will light up but don't feel bad. one of my fobs lights up and that's about it. it'll synchronize for like 5 mins then forget the whole incident. despite fresh batteries. i'm sure there are functioning fobs with a bad light but yes, you want it to flash red.

double check that the batteries are fitted correctly and also check that the metal contact is not broken and is connecting to the battery
